I put together a lot of albums on Spotify, and one of my hobbies is to design some wacky covers for them. One day I decided to start doing a daily project where I would design covers that were less random, and more in line with how I was feeling at the time.
At the time I was single and haunted by the modern masculinity that floods social media in the form of "alpha podcasts" and "relationship influencers". These creators can be funny and their messages can provoke fascinating dialogue, but when unchecked it sours the point of what love is. What I once thought was a beautiful thing was corrupted by these ideas of love being more of a transaction of "value" than a partnership built off of trust.
To detox myself I poured my heart and soul into these illustrations, letting loose all these toxic ideas onto the canvas, such as fear, corruption, possessiveness, self-worth, and all these other traits that make up this modern idea of love.
